Adventures on Aida

Hotta Studio's action RPG Tower of Fantasy lets players explore a colorful post-apocalyptic planet. Players hack and slice a variety of monsters and mutants while exploring a shared open world. There are a few niggles to pick from, but it's still a solid multiplayer action RPG.

Set on the post-apocalyptic planet Aida, Tower of Fantasy has an authentic anime Borderlands feel. The similarities are all pretty superficial, but in many ways they have similar vibes. A disaster in the famous Fantasy Tower has bathed the planet in omnium radiation. As a result, the landscape is overrun with monsters and bandits, filled with little masked madmen. The few humans who escape mutation do so with the help of devices called suppressors. Most of Aida's less hostile inhabitants live in remote and dilapidated settlements.

After being rescued by their brothers Zeke and Shrili after the player's suppressor fails, they wake up in a small settlement. Appoint yourself as the player's guide for However, when bandits attack the settlement, Shrili's suppressors are disabled, exposing him to high doses of Omnium radiation. As she begins to mutate, her brother takes her to her group of cyborgs called Aida's Inheritors to seek her help. The characters distrust these cybernetic fanatics and go in search of their new friends. This soon draws them into a conflict between the Heirs and the planet's ruling faction, the High Cross.

Anime Borderlands

In my opinion, Hotta Studio's writing is too anime-biased. For example, Zeke is your typical anime "bad boy", and he's not the only character that feels too typical. I was. I understand that you want to help those who helped you. However, the game works as if they are best friends after spending about two days together. Also, there is a fundamental contradiction between the appearance of some characters and their role in the story. I watch anime, so I'm used to characters walking around in overly fancy costumes. However, I would like to know why Denko in the second city is dressed as a cyborg ninja. He's never done a ninja thing, so it feels like the developers found a character he liked and randomly put him in there. Again, this is not an isolated case. Most of these criticisms probably fall into the category of sophistry. However, while these minor complaints accumulate over time, it's not that Tower of Fantasy delivers a compelling emotional story nonetheless.I still enjoyed the game's overall story but the small glitches were enough to keep me out of the experience.

But I'd like to know why the electrician in the second city is dressed as a cyborg ninja. The player can equip his three weapons such as sword, spear, bow, and rifle. Basic attacks build charges that allow players to switch to other weapons to launch powerful electrical discharge attacks. Against small groups of basic enemies, this mostly means stunning them with a flurry of basic attacks. However, larger groups and elite enemies require more dexterity as players dodge, sprint, and jump to avoid attacks. I especially liked using the jetpack for powerful aerial attacks with spears and dual wielding. Overall a decent system, but smashing simple enemies can get boring after a while.

Ranged combat is similar, but at the mercy of the basic attack's auto-aim.After playing around with the settings, I finally got it mostly working. But I felt like I was fighting Rock as much as I was fighting enemies. By holding down the attack button, you can freely aim a long-range weapon, which is extremely useful in boss battles. However, against groups of enemies, it's better to charge melee.a. He's never done a ninja thing, so it feels like the developers found a character he liked and randomly put him in there. Traveling the Land

The jetpack mentioned above is also handy for transportation and is ironically my favorite part of the game. The flight isn't unlimited, but you can still get quite a bit of height and distance, and it's simply fun to hover over the map. is. It also stops when it hits terrain.

It was a hassle to climb. Tower of Fantasy allows you to scale vertical planes until you run out of stamina. However, the player character usually clings to nearby walls. I also often got stuck in loops that automatically climbed, fell, and climbed.

Really, it represents the entire Tower of Fantasy. There's a lot of fun in this game, but a lot of little annoyances hold it back. Overall, I still like Tower of Fantasy and would recommend it to anyone looking for an anime style RPG of his. Just walk in and expect the edges to be a little rough.
